Horndean Amateur Theatrical Society
. . . Our 60th Anniversary Year
In November 2007, H.A.T.S presented
“The Importance of Being Earnest”
by Oscar Wilde
This classic comedy of manners, by one of our country's greatest playwrights, was very well recieved by the audience. We were fortunate to have some of our largest audiences for all three nights of the show.
"The Importance of Being Earnest" was one of more ambitious and demanding plays staged by our Society both in terms of the play itself as well as in terms of staging and costume. However, both the cast and director found the project challenging and rewarding (if not a little unnerving along the way) and it is hoped that HATS will undertake to produce similar plays in the future.
